Picture and calibration settings for different devices.

This information is part of the guide “TV Calibration” from Calibración HD.

Step No.1 Thanks to our experience we recommend some tips to properly configure a Blu -ray player, video game console and HDTV, goodbye to long texts.

Note: some options may not appear as described in this guide.

Before you begin using video patterns to calibrate the TV, there are some options that will have to change in the Blu-ray, video game console and TV.

First you have to change the option “image settings” or “picture mode” on TV, image options can be: sports, cinema, normal, natural, etc. We must switch to expert mode option, user, manual or normal, to configure all the following options and calibrate the TV as explained in the next steps of this guide.

Picture and calibration settings for PlayStation 3

Video settings:

• BD/DVD- video output format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr.

Screen settings PlayStation 3

• Filter to reduce interference cross -color: no.
• RGB full range (HDMI): limited.
• Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI): no.
• Deep color output (HDMI): no.

If the PlayStation 3 is connected to a SAMSUNG TV, (maybe) had better:

Video settings

• BD/DVD- Video output format (HDMI): RGB.

Screen settings PlayStation 3:

• Filter to reduce interference cross -color: no.
• RGB full range (HDMI): limited.
• Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr super-white (HDMI): yes.

Setting video output

• Resolution: automatic.
• RGB range: automatic (recommended).
• Range Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr: automatic.

Video playback settings

• Output 1080p/24Hz: automatic.

Picture and calibration settings for PlayStation 4 Pro

Video output settings:

• Resolution: 2160p / YUV420.
• TV Size: (put the size of your TV).
• Gamma RGB: full.
• HDR: automatic.
• Intense color output: automatic.

Video playback settings

• Output at 1080p/24 Hz: automatic.

Video player SONY. Picture and calibration settings.

Configuration image:

• 3D output setting: automatic.
• Setting screen size TV for 3D: (put the size of the TV).
• TV type: 16:9.
• Display format: original.
• DVD aspect ratio: pan scan.
• Cinema conversion mode: automatic.
• Output video format: HDMI/automatic.
• Output BD/DVD-ROM 1080/24p: automatic.
• YCbCr/RGB (HDMI): RGB (this option depends on the television).
• Deep color HDMI: automatic (on occasions choose: no or off).
• Pause mode: automatic.

Picture settings for Xbox 360

Settings display:

• HDMI color space: YCbCr709.

Picture and calibration settings for Xbox One

Display and Sound / Screen:

• Resolution TV: 1080p.
• TV connection: HDMI (detect automatically).

Display and Sound / Image:

• Color depth: 24 bits per pixel.
• Color space: TV (limited RGB).

More common image settings for Blu- ray

In the options Blu-ray player, they need to do the following settings:

TV format: 16: 9 original.

• Bd Wise: on.
• Resolution: automatic or 1080p.
• HDMI color format: automatic.
• Frame (24Fs): automatic.
• deep color HDMI: automatic.
• progressive mode: automatic.
• screen 1080p: 24hz (if 24Hz not available choose automatic or 60hz).
• HDMI color settings: YcbCr.
• Color RGB o YcbCr: automatic.

More common image settings for SAMSUNG Blu- ray

• Configuration display:

• TV format: 16:9 original.
• BD wise: off.
• Resolution: automatic.
• Frame (24Fs): automatic.
• DVD conversion 24Fs: automatic.
• Screen size smart hub: size 3.
• HDMI color format: YCbCr (4:4:4) (this choice depends on the TV that is connected player).
• HDMI deep color: Off.

Settings for LG Blu-ray players

Configuration, display

• TV appearance: 16: 9 original.
• Resolution: automatic.
• Scale- Ultra HD: auto (this option is on the players Blu-ray can resize the image to a TV 4k/UHD).
• 1080p display: 24Hz.
• Configuration color HDMI: YCbCr.
• Mode 3D: active.
• Menu home page: active.

In options or 4K HD TV we need to make the following settings, we have to choose the option Off or zero of the following options:
